Bruni Dunn was established in June 2008 by Dino Bruni and Lachie Dunn. Both have extensive experience working on both big and small retail accounts – Dino having also worked ‘client-side’ as the Marketing Manager for Myer, while Lachie brings almost 20 years of retail creativity to the partnership.
Our philosophy from the outset has always been to create fresh ideas that not only build brands but keep the cash registers ringing. As a result our work is as much strategically fuelled as it is creatively driven.
Our first client, the House of Golf, was a busy retail business and we have proudly positioned our agency in the retail communications space ever since.
We don’t want to be the biggest agency in town because we believe that the directors of the agency should be involved in the daily servicing of our client accounts.
The fact that the agency was born in the heat of the GFC gives us important insights into delivering cost-effective, accountable campaigns across a wide range of media.
Our approach has been embraced by a range of brands and retailers. Today we boast an enviable client list of well-known local and national retailers.
Dino Bruni – Managing Director
Dino is a communications professional with senior marketing and advertising agency account management experience. With a long history at the senior level of some of Australia’s leading advertising agencies, including 13 years at Y&R Advertising as a Group Account Director, Dino has also worked in a senior marketing role at Myer.
Dino’s client management account experience list is long, incorporating a wide variety of industries. Key accounts include Tabcorp, AV Jennings Homes, Officeworks, Myer, Beaurepaires, Dunlop, Australian Defence Force (Army/Airforce), Vox Retail Group, Herald Sun, Autobarn, and the Australian Grand Prix.
At Myer, Dino contributed directly to the financial performance (sales and profitability) of the business by ensuring collaboration among various functions, and assisting in brand building efforts at the macro level.
Lachie Dunn – Creative Director
As a copywriter, Lachie has written countless successful ad campaigns that have not just helped build brands, but also delivered immediate bottom line results. From creating TV, radio, outdoor and press ads, through to brochures, POS, direct mail, websites and eDMs, Lachie has worked on everything from cars to department stores.
It is in the cauldron of fast-paced retail where Lachie has built his career. He enjoys the immediacy of retail and the demands of quick turnaround times and tight deadlines. With more than 20 years in retail advertising, Lachie’s experience has been enjoyed at the cash register by Bruni Dunn’s clients including the House of Golf, Tyrepower, Berkowitz Furniture, Baby Bunting, Carpet Court, Diadora Footwear, Burdens Bathrooms and Haymes Paint.
Catherine Caia – Design Lead
Catherine’s passion for great design drives her to develop stunning work for our clients. Importantly, Catherine’s design philosophy centres around the belief that great design is only ‘great’ if it works as a piece of communication. With more than 10 years experience in large and boutique ad agencies and design studios, Catherine has worked on brands including NAB, Metricon, Metalicus, EGO, Melbourne Central, Highpoint, 2XU, BMW Group, Cadbury Schweppes and Mercedes Benz.
Lauren Vallis – Senior Designer/Studio Manager
Lauren’s background in the fast-paced, quick-turnaround world of magazine and street zine publishing makes her ideally suited to run our busy studio and bring her unique design aesthetic to her work. With a keen eye and attention to detail, Lauren also uses her digital design credentials to help deliver a full range of online material including banner ads, rich media ads, websites and more.
Scott Winning – Digital Lead
Scott understands the plumbing of the internet and works with our key digital partners to deliver first class digital solutions to our client base. Scott’s key career highlights include: building, developing, marketing and managing Antmart.com.au – the successful B2B group buying site. Content creation, email marketing campaigns and social media planning for anthill.com.au, as well as developing and project managing the entire digital strategy and site build for the Committee for Melbourne. In a nutshell, Scott is a digital specialist who simplifies the digital landscape and explains it in a language you can understand.
